Το Πανεπιστήμιο Κρήτης είναι μέλος της Ένωσης Πανεπιστημίων της Μεσογείου (UNIMED), ενός διεθνούς δικτύου που αριθμεί περισσότερα από 170 πανεπιστήμια από 25 χώρες της Μεσογείου και προωθεί τη συνεργασία στην εκπαίδευση, την έρευνα, την καινοτομία και τη διεθνοποίηση των ιδρυμάτων ανώτατης εκπαίδευσης.
Στο πλαίσιο αυτό, η UNIMED απευθύνει πρόσκληση συμμετοχής στην 7η διοργάνωση του διεθνούς διαγωνισμού «Start Cup Competition – Entrepreneurship in the Mediterranean», η οποία θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 23-24 Νοεμβρίου 2026 στο Τορίνο της Ιταλίας. Ο διαγωνισμός απευθύνεται σε φοιτητικές ομάδες πανεπιστημίων της Μεσογείου που αναπτύσσουν καινοτόμες επιχειρηματικές ιδέες και αποσκοπεί στην ενίσχυση της επιχειρηματικότητας, της καινοτομίας, της δημιουργικότητας και της συνεργασίας μεταξύ των πανεπιστημίων της περιοχής.

In the framework of the activity of the UNIMED SubNetwork on Employability, UNIMED has
launched a call for applications for participation in the 7th edition of the Start Cup Competition – “Entrepreneurship in the Mediterranean”.
The “Start Cup Competition – Entrepreneurship in the Mediterranean” is a contest of
entrepreneurial ideas developed by university students enrolled in one of the universities
around the Mediterranean basin. This competition aims to encourage participating teams
from universities on both shores of the Mediterranean to present innovative ideas in the field
of entrepreneurship.
The Start Cup Competition is a joint initiative by UNIMED and the Lebanese University,
coordinator of the UNIMED SubNetwork on Employability, with the collaboration of the European Training Foundation (ETF) and of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie – Moyen Orient (AUF).
UNIMED organises this 7th edition jointly with the Lebanese University (LU), the Center
for Careers, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Centre MINE) at the Lebanese
University, with ETF,AUF-Moyen Orient and with the Mediterranean Agronomic
Institute of Bari – CIHEAM Bari.
The 7th edition of the UNIMED Start Cup Competition is hosted by the European Training Foundation (ETF) and will take place in Torino, Italy at the premises of the ETF on November 23rd and 24th, 2026, with the aim to strengthen cooperation among Mediterranean higher education institutions, promote experiential learning, and showcase academic excellence, youth talent, and entrepreneurial mindset.
The deadline to express interest to participate is June 30th, therefore each university
interested to participate will have write to UNIMED and to the Start Cup Secretariat to the following email:
