We are convinced that our burning passion for trying to do good and be fair in everything we do, continues to shape our culture which is one of the main reasons for Fairlo’s success.

But we’re a long way from reaching our ambitions and a core part of getting there is to have best in class product design.

What does design look like at Fairlo?

You’ll play a critical role in shaping what Design is and what it will become at Fairlo. We don’t know how the function will evolve but we need your help to build it.

You’ll initially report to our COO but will eventually sit within our Product function. You’ll be collaborating directly with our technology, marketing, product, risk and customer service teams to achieve the best outcomes for the business and customer

During the first weeks you will immerse yourself in our design system and existing user journeys, working closely with our front-end team to make improvements and iterations.

Over the first months you will own the discovery and design of new product experiences and start identifying areas for improvement in the product and design system.

In your first year you’ll be taking hypotheses from across the business and turning them into experiments, features or brand new propositions. You’ll use your strong relationships across the business to educate other teams and grow Design’s influence, becoming a key stakeholder in the future of the product.

What about you?

  • A ‘Founding Designer’ mindset: you’ll be comfortable working in ambiguity and at pace. You’ll seek ownership of problems and embrace having to sometimes wear multiple hats to get the job done.

  • A strategic collaborator on the future of Fairlo: you’ll bring your taste, experience and experimentation mindset to bear, blending user research and rapid prototyping to validate hypotheses on the Fairlo roadmap.

  • A craft and brand-oriented executor: you’ll use your highly refined visual and interaction design execution skills to deliver delightful experiences that elevate Fairlo’s brand and customer experience.

  • A product minded leader: alongside your peers in Product and Engineering, you’ll use your awareness of the market, user and business to propose new problem statements, feature briefs and product iterations that target critical business KPIs.

  • A key collaborator with engineering: you’ll have experience of having worked closely with engineering to originate or evolve Design Systems in the past. You’ll refine the Fairlo Design System and create a roadmap of updates and enhancements.
